UC (User Customization) starters guide

Most of the ROM threads have been innudated with questions relating to UC. Here's a main starter page.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337

From here, most everything can be learned. Most or all of the tools are linked here. The more you read, the more you want to do, so the more you need to search.

Good luck. It's a fun adventure having a WM device set itself up the way you want without having to do anything after a hard reset. I'm still learning, but it's pretty easy.

Re: UC (User Customization) starters guide

and here is a copy of my SDConfig, use the HIDE when your cab needs input to install ie touchpal needs to know if my device is vga or qvga.

LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Hacks\Calc Skin.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Games\SkinzSudoku.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\ThumbCal.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\TF3D Config.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\iContact 6.4.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\PictureMail.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\S2U2.cab
LOCK: Disabled
HIDE:Enabled
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\AE-Button 2.6.3.cab
CAB: \Internal Storage\Cabs\Apps\TouchPal.cab
HIDE: Disabled
LOCK:Enabled
RST: Reset

*Note: there is not supposed to be a space after LOCK: or HIDE: but if I put a D with out a space it shows up as here.

THANKS \/

Re: UC (User Customization) starters guide

The "command" always must start on the 6th character.

I dont think you can. You cold probably use Sashimi to do a root copy for your pim.vol, but I've always just synced my contacts. You could use pim backup. I have a backup copy just in case.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705

I feel like I'm a spokesperson for Sashimi, but it so much more powerful and robust than UC. www.winmo-experts.com I used UC before Sashimi. Both have a learning curve, but Sashimi is compatible on any rom. UC has to be cooked in the rom. Sashimi FTW.

Flashing is a breeze now. I dont enter any serial keys, input any settings, or setup any programs(actually, a few in manual mode). Check out the videos.
