Anyone else HATE SPRINT

I have been with SPRINT for 12+ years. The last year 3G has been nearly worthless. It's always slow. If you go to the SPRINT forums they have problems literally everywhere. Is there better service out there is every provider this bad? I'm trying to find a way to get out of the ETF and move to someone else. Maybe Verizon?

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

Coverage around me has gone down as well. But having 2 Sero plans, $30/ month and $40/month I can't complain much.

Prepaid can't even compete with these prices, but if I was a new customer on a $79.99 + plan I would probably go with Verizon! You could buy Roam Control and force Roam, using a lot of data, they would probably kick you off with no ETF, but you may lose your phone number.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

This is exactly the situation I went through last year and was why I switched to T-mobile. That being said ,I don't hate sprint I just am deeply disappointed in them for not fixing the towers by the resolution dates they gave me.
If T-mobile has coverage in your area I recommend you give them a try, my 3G speeds are better than they've ever been with sprint as you can see in my sig and my 2G speeds when I get throttled after passing 10GB are still faster than sprint.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

I hate verizon personally cause of the high prices. I'm actually thinking about switching back to Sprint since they should have LTE in my area by years end, or going with T-mobile!

I have tried several different companies out here. So far, Verizon is the fastest... AND most expensive.

Lol...this is why i left them last june and went to verizon. I dont care how cheap sprint plans are. The network is useless.

@Karl what restraint?
Supposedly as part of their network vision project they're taking down and rebuilding cell sites so that may be what's going on there at least I would hope so.

Do I hate Sprint? No, but I did divorce them. Sometimes splitting up cost. Best $ ever spent.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

Yes I'm fed up with sprint. Originally came over because of SERO. Stayed because of the EVO and the promise of 4g and the 1 year upgrades. Lost the 1 year upgrade, WiMAX sucks, service is horrible in parts of NYC . Will wait out my contract if I can't get sooner.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

if you guys would start writing dan@sprint.com they would probably work with you or let you out free of eft's. they did for me last year.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

@fixxxer2012 if only that worked for me. I actually have to pay the ETF over all the data I used over that period of my thread about this.

rootlinux 05-11-2012 08:18 PM

I still love Sprint.
Some of the best devices and newest tech.
Unlimited data
Cheapest service for unlimited, no one else even offers that really.
My 3g hits between 300-600kbps at worst but is rare.
Most places hits between 1200-1400kbps
Can live with it till LTE lights up and for unlimited data it is worth it.
I almost never go anywhere without service unless in mountain areas and even then its rare.

Maybe but all of my family has Sprint and that includes wife, daughter, mom, brother and his kids. About 12 devices in all.
Spread out over maybe 30 miles and we all have pretty good service here.

T-Mobile drops left and right in this area.
At&t has crappy 3g here and don't get me started on prices. Lol
Don't like being raped by Verizon either.
For me in this area Sprint is the best thing going.
Saying that I have never had 4g here.

Exactly.
It depends on your area.
That is why I said for me Sprint is the best thing going. :)
Now if another carrier offered unlimited with good service here I might change.
I have tried them all at some point.

Eric, my brother and his family will get to enjoy T-Mobiles 3/4g for about 10 minutes Sunday as they travel through the center of Tulsa on the way to my house. Once they get here his galaxy s2 is on 2g, same when they go home.

Not really. I was with sprint for 6 years and the network was great up until feb 2011. Was soo bad we couldnt use our devices at all. So far with verizon the past year everything has been consistant and working well for me. I dont get the best signal in my home but its much better than sprint.

rootlinux 05-11-2012 11:59 PM

My mother in law has tmo here and she gets the worst service ever.
I had the same problem when I had it.
The best customer service people but that doesn't help when you have no service.

I left tmo because my insured device got broken and they refused to cover it.
Not tmo but the insurance team.

I then went to at&t and had an issue and had the agent actually hang up on me.

My cell experience goes all the way back to bellsouth. Lol
Have had Cingular, Nextel before it merged and all in between.
I even had Sprint twice before staying the third time. That was when their cs was the worst ever.

Know what I am saying when I say Sprint is the best in this area.

i had tmo so far back that there was no 3g. heck even 2g was just cell service. it was called voicestream wireless back then. ive been on sprint for almost 10 years. im happy with them, but after all i would expect that they would have good service here. they are based out of a suburb of where im from.

keefer1971 05-12-2012 12:30 AM

Liked sprint till I added two more smartphones to my plan, and upgraded my beloved touch pro 2 for a Motorola photon. Absolutely love my photon, but sprint just sent me a letter saying I use too much data off network and they are cancelling my account. I've had their service for three years, and always have my wifi on. What the hell are the 40 dollars in smart phone fees for, if not for their truly (bullshit) unlimited data? And to just give me thirty days before I'm shut off is BS, they could have offered to cancellation the two other phones and let me keep mine! I just wasted a crapload of money on new phones that I might not be able to use with another carrier! I used to recommend sprint to people, and now I will tell everyone I see to skip sprint (not to mention the lying thieving bastards at att). Bad news travels much faster than good, and I hope I have a big part in keeping people from sprint! I hate liars! I was just on the phone with them a month ago, willing to buy out my daughter's existing contract to replace the p.o.s. Zio I bought her and they never mentioned the data. I did just install a tethering app about a week prior to the letter, and only used it once to try, and another 30 minutes at dinner so my autistic son could watch Mario videos while we ate dinner to help keep him regulated. If that was the reason, they could have simply asked me to take it off and charge me 35 bucks if they wanted! These cheap penny pinching people hating pathetic Mega corporations that have taken over the world can all kiss my ass! 1980 wasn't that bad, I wouldn't mind not getting any replacement phone, cancel my satellite TV, internet, and all the other b.s. we think we need, and just go back to living a life without big brother on my shoulder. Sounds crazy... but I am one of the few people without a microwave oven, cuz I don't need some dumb ass doctor sticking a probe up my ass to rid me of colon cancer because I was to lazy to pop my own damn popcorn!

I don't only cite tmonews, well this shows that I've won this argument since you can't counter it with a sensible response other than a personal blow attempt as usual.

http://mobile-broadband-services-rev...enreviews.com/

It is hard to base the country on " selected markets ".
In rural America it has shown tmo lags behind.
That counts for much of America.

Like at&t claimed fastest 3g network.
That may be but only " if " you can get connected on the 3g network.
They are know to have terrible coverage.
In this area tmo has the same problem.
In rural America Verizon wins but you have to PAY for it.

What have they been using to test? They must be on some serious crack or something to say that sprint is faster than T-mobile, there is no way that EvDO Rev.A can outspeed HSPA (+). the rootmetrics and just about every other test done by PCWorld and PCMag has said that T-mobile has the fastest 3G network and 2nd/3rd fastest 4G network. Also when T-mobile finishes with the refarming by Q4 this coverage issue will be no more.

Tmo is faster in many " market " areas but not in rural areas.
They even may be faster in rural areas when you can get on the network.
Success in connecting to 3G in those areas is behind Sprint.

Re: Anyone else HATE SPRINT

I pulle dthe plug on Sprint. I switched to Verizon. I got an awesome deal on phones thru Amazon wireless. I did email Dan@sprint.com. I had a rep call me. They started network investigation. I was fed up before I sent the email and had already started the process with Verizon. Sprint says I didn't give them enough time (a week) to do the investigation. Since I ported out they are not continuing the investigation and they are not waiving the ETF. It's $240 but since I couldn't really use the phones and I can use Verizon I'll just have to eat the cost. Hopefully I can sell my Sprint phones to help cover some of my cost. So far Verizon is awesome. Good coverage, price is close to what I was paying Sprint.
