I think the Galaxy S2 or HTC Amaze. I'm thinking about picking one up just to try out the $30 prepaid plan and check their coverage, already ordered the $1.99 Sim card.

I'd say the GS2, unless you get an ATT Galaxy Note (it can be hacked to get TMobile 3G/4G)

I'd lean towards the amaze over the GS2, but only because amaze has a fm radio -.- lol. I care more about radio than the slightly better specs on GS2, I don't do enough to see difference but I'd use the radio a lot more (streaming doesn't always work for me out in woods, but the radio will)

@EyeB actually wooded areas can affect all sorts of radio signals. My house for example over 50% of the area around it (especially in the LOS area) is covered in trees. As a result of that it's very hard for me to get my local TV stations and only the strongest radio stations come in,what sucks even more is a roof antenna isn't feasible as this place is rented.

hm, I just assumed that since radio worked in the car, it would work on phone too :S lol

The LA area is kind of surrounded by concrete too right? I'm talking more of national parks and the like.

LOS means line of sight in this case.
