Anybody In Los Angeles?

Anyone from Los Angeles or California in General waiting patiently for 4G access????, I have my EVO pre-ordered but it just seems like a long time until we get 4G (Even though there has been no confirmed date of implementation). Anyone have any "inside" information as to when we will be able to enjoy WiMax??

Re: Anybody In Los Angeles?

I can't believe I am going to say this but I will hold off on getting the EVO till 4G is here in Los Angeles- I got my last four phones (6700, 6800, TP and TP2) the first day they are available! Maybe 4G in LA and the Froyo update will happen around the same time!

I am thinking about moving to vegas until California gets 4g... lol i would think that san fran would have 4g atleast, I'm in the heart of L.A. so hopefully i will have great coverage once we do get it. if not it will give me an excuse to spend more time outdoors

I'm in Riverside but I still pre-ordered the phone. I'm counting down the days but it's driving me nuts having to wait. Patience is NOT one of my virtues.

I work in a building that has Sprint, and Verizon on the roof. Sprint just finished their install, I'm sure its in testing now, but won't be released until towards the end of the year I'm guessing.

i have no dates. but if you go to the sprint website it shows the 50 or 60 cities expected to have wimax this year and next to 10 of those cities is an "S" which means they will be getting it in the very near future. Also there is rumors that some wimax cities will be turned on when the evo is released, i'm hoping that those cities with the "S" will be that day. here is the link then on the bottom click "see 4g cities" Then click on signup for updates and those 12 cities should be getting it soon.

actually.. the cities with the S are just cities that are slated to get 4g... and the other cities are the cities that already have 4g. so yea doesnt really indicate anything really
