Sprint Seasonal Standby Plan

I just found out about a plan that doesn't seem to be on any of their web pages. It is for planned non use of your cell phone for more than a month at a time. This is how it was supposed to work, you pay $8.99 when you activate or deactivate your plan. You pay a prorated portion of the month that you have used when you activate your plan. You pay a prorated amount again for the month when you deactivate your plan, so you're paying for the portion of the month that you're using. Since you are paying $8.99 each time it is better not to use it for less than 2 months. You are also extending your contract for the months that you use it, or have your plan on standby. The standby plan does not help if your ending your service since the contract is automatically extended.

Not to mention if you are on an older plan you will probably lose it.

Actually they can apply it for you twice or once an year, I got it applied to my account 4 months into my contract due to not being able to pay by bills for 3 months or less and they didn't extend my contract by any months as well =P just a matter of paying the prorated charges :s

Okay, I know it is still kind of confusing to me too. I was mistaken about having to pay the $8.99 each time you activate and deactivate the standby plan. The $8.99 is the price for each month you're on the standby plan. When you are on your regular plan you pay the regular price for the portion of the month that you used your regular plan. I also discovered that you have to have the regular plan active for 3 months before you can go into the standby plan.

I was going to try this on my air card because I don't use it every month.

Sorry to bump up a super old thread, but does anyone know if I do this on a Sero-P line, will I lose the SERO plan?
