Re: [4/09/12] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.2

I am using v1.9.2. on a BlackBerry 9930 (actually, I have tried this with two different devices, mine and my wife's).

I am on Windows 7 64bit. I am able to connect to BB Desktop Manager (and the manager sees my device, performs backups, etc...).

I have followed the instructions on the FAQ page (to turn off the auto-start option in BB Desktop manager, kill processes, etc, etc... exactly as instructed).

However, I keep getting the same message, "No Device Detected, Push OK to continue."

I would be happy to donate, in fact I can't *wait* to donate for both of my phones. But, I have to be able to get it to connect first. Is there any reason why it might not be working for me?

Ie, does BlackBerry Protect being installed screw things up, does Enterprise Activation or IT Policy prohibit connection to BBSAK... or is there a problem with certain models?

Thank you, in advance, for your help!

thank you so much, i was going crazy... how did you find out? this should be easily visible somewhere

Re: [4/09/12] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.2

Hi,

I have 1.9.1 installed but it says "No Device Detected. Push OK to continue."

I followed the recommended steps on FAQ "Q. My phone wont connect?" These steps did not help.

I therefore downloaded 1.9.2 but when attempting to install I get the error message "Unable to install because a newer version of this product is already installed."

Please advise.

Kind regards,
G.

Note to owners of bbsak.org:
The contact form at BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife does not work - it has no form script. I suggest you remove the form before you upset other frustrated people.

Dear BBSAK Staff, this question is really good.

This is the issue sooner or later many BB users will face.

It would be really kind from your side to clarify this behavior, maybe sharing some knowledge about the contacts list.
I.e.: where is it stored? How to dump it from such not booting BlackBerries with app error 523 or app error 205?

Thank you for any hint, reply and info.

Cor

bad news. Looks like the error is back.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 61 bytes) in /home/jmtventure/bbsak.org/download.php on line 6

I paid for my nag free version ( I have used this in the past and it's awesome) but was hoping to pick up a nagging one until you could email the aforementioned. Just thought you should know!

Re: [4/09/12] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.2

Hello.
This is the first time I try to upgrade my daughter's BB9790.
BBSAK connects fine, I backed up successfully. I have downloaded and installed the latest 7.1 released on bb site (which will not allow me update through BB Desktop Software due to the fact that I don't have a carrier plan for it).
So I thought I should try your method.
BB Desktop shows 3 update versions - currently installed one (7.0) and the new 7.1 (twice).
After connecting BBSAK, Load OS gives me this message: "No OS found, Please install a OS for our phone". Again, the BB Device is correctly installed as BB Desktop recognize it.
What should I do next? Is 9790 fully supported by your 1.9.2 version of BBSAK?

Thank you in advance.
