curve 8330

Hope this is the right place for this. A friend has a curve 8330 and saw me use my windows phone as a wireless router. Can this phone be used that way?

Thanks

There is no way to make a blackberry a wireless router if you're wanting a "hotspot" to allow several devices to use the internet via the phone. However, you can use an app like Tether or PDA net, or VZW/Sprint native software if you have the plan to connect your laptop/pc to the phone via usb and/or Bluetooth and access the internet that way yes.

a couple of questions...

1. can't you do stealth tethering on the blackberry (like you can in winmo devices)?

2. if i have the everthing data plan, how much will it cost for the PAM as an add-on?

3. when tethering a winmo device to a laptop, the speed is was fast...faster than a dls/cable connection. is it the same with blackberry? because when i asked a sprint store rep about tethering a blackberry sometime last year, she said that it would be slower than cable/dsl connection.

Re: curve 8330

For me tethering on BB is just as fast as it was on my Diamond

For add on pack, yeah, Sprint says there's no such thing anymore

Stealth, um not as simply as with WinMo phones,

You need PDAnet or Tether (I use Tether, its $$ but you can usually find it half off and it transfers from device to device if you swap out BBs, uses USB OR BT so you're good either way.)
