Make your own GPS maps.

I was wanting to know if there was any way to make your own maps and use a program like navi computer to display them. I want to either scan in or download my sectional charts for flying, and then make it so I can see where I am at on the chart. Like a moving chart. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I can download my charts in GeoTIFF format if that helps!

I believe I saw a gps application that let you insert your own maps as the background. It was a while ago. Check out freewarepocketpc.net. I know there are several solutions for Android. As you probably know, development for winmo 6 was canceled meaning there's no real monetary future for it. Most of the development has gone to android or iphone. :-\
