Overclocking HTC devices

1 Attachment(s)
This an overclocking tool I have been using for quite sometime now! Its small, simple to use and you can clock your device up to 624mhz. I am currently using it on an HTC Touch Vogue with telus, and the difference is amazing! And just to put to rest the myth about messing with your machine, I have been using it for 2 years now and my device as never had any problems!

use it...i used it on my touch and it was amazing.....my touch was on steriods!!! but it sometimes causes lock ups, but only happened a few times.....it only works for the mogul and touch if im not mistaken....not for the diamond or pro.

Extensivly discussed in the following thread...

Personaly, I still use it, with no negative effects, much to some peoples displeasure.

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

Actually, I used it on my Diamond along with tweaks you can get over at XDA, and it worked great! To my understanding, it works on both ARM and OMAP processors, I could be mistaken how ever!

For the most part, the Touch=A-1 and the same for the Diamond!

I have never experienced any lockups, mind you, I use clear temp and soft reset twice a day, just to keep my phone clean and running at its peak! (I'm anal about keeping a clean phone)

Can this brick your device? Or cause any other harm?

Not posable. The Mogul on up has a dual procesor and no overclocking apps.

Your RAR also has a virus.

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

First of all, my friend has a Mogul and it works great! Second, the rar file isn't a virus ( at least not when I posted it) Look, all I'm trying to do is help or guide the people that have had the same issues in the past with slower devices! If there is any other overclocking warez out there, I'm sure others have found it. I found this one and I like very much! If you want a more specific list of devices I have tried it with, let me know and I will gladly tell you!

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

Just FYI on the virus scare part...

Some antivirus programs use Heuristics... meaning if its a program that looks like it might be doing something malicious (ie. editing the kernel, making hardware level changes, etc...) the program will alert you and call it a virus. A good handfull of legitmate .exe's and .cab's listed on this site could potentially set off an anti-virus program just because of the nature of the files. Thanks for the heads up, and always be carefull of the source of the files you get!

Works fine on my Bell Vogu but not can't realy see any changes in speed. There are no viruses in the shared file..

That's because this was never proven to do anything on any devices after the Apache. It was made for a different processor type. It's called the placebo effect.

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

i selected the 624 mhz for my TP2 since we already have a 528mhz processor. it seems to be faster but i just applied to modification, so if there are any problems i'll comment later.

Tried on my TP, seems a bit faster. No problems as of yet

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

hmm well i heard that this doesnt work on Touch Pro2 because of the different chip type, but didnt mess anything up either. guess the additional speed was all in my head

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

seems to improve performance slightly on a touch 2.

graceyr 11-30-2010 04:04 AM

Re: Overclocking HTC devices

Unless there is an application that will test the performance before and after overclocking then we can really never tell if how "fast" the improvement is.
