Where's the light sensor?

I don't see/notice the light sensor next to the n button like I did on the displays and rep's NC... Anyone else notice this? I looked for it, because I wasn't noticing my unit adjusting the backlighting..

No... I didn't see it on the display unit either.
My wife adjusts the light manually.

Re: Where's the light sensor?

I am on my 3rd nookcolor due to reboots and a brick. I noticed that my first nookcolor that I purchased from Bust Buy had a round windows to the left of the n. On the other 2 I recieved, I noticed that it was now solid black. I never noticed the first one dimming on its own except for idle.

Re: Where's the light sensor?

I went into my local B&N... The display model had the sensor... I asked the lady... And she gave me some BS line about how they had to do that on the display units due to the bright lights in the store. BS!!! The nook color is said to work well in most lights. Even sunlight. The stupid track lighting in the store is not sunlight.
I just walked away.
It may have something to do with when it was built... They may have cut out some features as demand went up. Or something like that.
