Easy tether mtu error!!! Help!!!

Okay, so here is the run down on my situation..
I am trying to connect my 360 to my HTC Hero for LIVE..I know, its slow. but its faster then the dial up out here (choking along at 24k) and im going nuts here trying to figure this out.
Ive downloaded easytether pro for both my windows 7 laptop and my phone, everything is connected, bridged, ready to go.. until i try to connect to live..
Then it tells me i dont have a high enough MTU rating for LIVE.

I know there has to be a way around this shit.. im just not sure how..
Ive downloaded DRTCP and it hasnt seemed to change anything for me.. ive changed and saved every single one of the damn options in Advanced Options to 1500 MTU and nothing works..
Any help would be greatly appreciated
