what's the best file type or converter for high quality videos?

first i tried double twist and it wouldnt play too many file types so i got rock player and i like it a whole lot better but howcome sometimes it plays videos perfectly and other times it looks like its in slow motion?

Grab Rockplayer from the market. It plays divx and avi
