Hi centman, and welcome to the wide world of WM.

Congrats on your first flash. Once you download and run the RUU for another ROM, the previous will be overridden. It's recommended that after a flash, you go to Start, Settings, System, and hit clear storage. This should eliminate alot of problems if you have any. For programs to be deleted you need to navigate to Start>Settings>System> REMOVE PROGRAMS. In there will be a list of installed programs. Generally, once you hit uninstall and then soft reset the device after, the program (including the icon) should be gone.
