from my dealings there isnt a way around it. I often run into the exact same problem. Since i back up my contact information on my phone, I usually have to either wait to either restore it back to my phone after i re-sync with my computer. If not then i will have duplicates on both on my TP and computer. When this happens i use a program on my PC call ODIR. It does a good job of removing duplicate calendar, contact and task entries. For my PC i have used SKTools but it sometimes delete all the calendar entries instead of just the duplicate. One of the guys on has made a program that does a good job deleting duplicate contacts.
