Slightly low FPS in Video Playback

Ever since I've had this phone I've realized that in playing any video the FPS can be somewhat lower than what you'd expect on say a computer or Television (standard FPS rate for a TV is 24 I think). I only have two media players installed, TCPMP and WMP, and I've noticed that on both when streaming media, playing a movie or watching TV episodes of Lost from the microSD card that the video is slightly slow. I realize other factors come into play such as network speed, if other apps are running and I have played around with the video drivers in TCPMP, but it still seems the playback is slow.

Is this just a fact of the processors speed and the ram, or is there something I can do about it?
