Re: Accessing Shared Network Files

Try using a file browser like "Total Commander" which gives you the option to connect to network resources. I use this and set up shortcuts to directories I use frequently on my network. Works great for transferring files and updating music. Makes up for not having removable storage.

Sorry, I don't have a link for total commander, but I'm sure you can search and find it. It's built into a lot of the cooked ROMs.

Once you have it, just go to the root directory and select "\\" or "\\Plugins" depending on the version you are using, then "LAN". You can set up a permanent connection using "<new server>" or just temporary using "_Quick open".

If you use "new server" you will be prompted as follows:

Connection name = friendly name
Server location = \\server\share

For "connection name" you can specify the server, i.e. \\server, but you can not specify the full location, i.e. \\server\share. If you do, nothing happens when you finish. I always get frustrated on that when I haven't used it for a while.
