Actually, that is an easy fix. You messed with the connection timeout settings and it most likely changed the SuspendResume value for HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume to something other than #777
A lot of cooked roms have that incorrectly set as well, so don't be surprised if it starts happening again.
The only registry editor that I know of that can properly fix it is Schap's Registry Editor (
