I have not ever used this unit, but thought I would offer a bit of input. Basically all this unit does is pick up ambient rf in the car and channel it outside. you could get the same basic effect by taking an external antenna and connecting it to a proper wavelength antenna inside the car. It cannot amplify the signal whatsoever. There is no power supply with this unit, so power cannot be increased. They do not advertise even an expected db gain, so I would expext one. There are many quality antennas on the market with wilson being the king. Their amplifier user with their antenna is the way to go if you need extreme amplification (i think 4 to 6 watts out from 600mw in) but just the antenna and adapter will give around 20db gain.

In a nutshell, I would give this item about as much credibility as the "stick on antenna booster" you put under your battery. Hope this helps a bit.
