Outlook Emails won't delete everytime

I have a problem that has been around intermittently but seems to be worsening:

When I receive a new (direct push - exchange server) email I then get a notification. If I go to that email and open it, then choose to delete it, I then minimize Outlook. It appears from doo-hicky at the top of the Today screen that a sync is initiated to tell the server that the email has been deleted.

Here is where the problem comes in: if I then receive another email (or sometimes just after a few minutes) I get a notification and the old email shows up again, along with the new one, as if I had never deleted it.

So basically I get atleast one extra notification (and then the trouble of deleting the email) for many of the emails I receive. I'd say it happens with 80% of my single emails. If I receive three emails at a time it almost always happens with the last of the three received (that is it has to be deleted twice).

It is as though the server is not getting the info that the email has been deleted.

Anyone else having this problem?
