Headphone wire mod

I thought I'd show my small mod with the headset that came with the touch pro. I added a 3.5mm jack for ANY headphones, so that I can use my over ears and canal headphones when I choose to.

All you need to do is take off the cover, EXTREMELY easy for this variant, and do some simple soldering. The problem with this model of headset is that there is now a layer of epoxy, or some sort of glue to hold the chip in. But, it is very easy to pry out.

Now for the mod, just go to Radioshack and buy the cheapest headphone extender cable, but try to get the thinner ones so you don't need to drill a bigger hole. Then just pry the assembly out gently and solder away.

Strip the wire on the 3.5mm female plug and put through the hole, and start soldering. Be careful while soldering, I accidentally melted a small area of mine during the process. -_-

The layout is simple, if you have a single ground wire, simply just solder it to one of the 2 outer points:

G__.R__.L__G_______G is ground, R is Right, L is left
[]``[]``[]``[] ______It doesn't matter if you switch left or right.
|..................|
|.......( ).......| <- Button
|..................|
[]_[]_[]_[]_[]

After you have solder those points it should work, krazy glue or hot glue the wires into place and just reinstall the cover and you are good to go!
