LOL yeah I was wondering how long it would take for this to pop out.

3G = third generation - for sprint that is...

1G == Analog - pre 2000
2G == Digital 1x - 2000 or so
3G = EVDO - 2004/5
3.1G = EVDO rev A 2006/7
