Question i think i fried my wifi chip....

hi all. i just got home and was going to tether via wmwifirouter with the laptop... when i launched said program it prompted me that it could not locate my wifi card so i hit check again numerous times to no avail, and yes ik checked to make sure my switch was on, so i tried to connect the wifi manually via settings/connections/wifi menu turn on wifi. still a no go. tried soft reseting and repeated the other steps 4 times. any ideas? it might be fried... but it worked fine last night and shoot this afternoon before work even. anyways you think they will swap me out because of a fried wifi chip?
