It deletes users storage, so any document you created after you removed it out of the box, in any folder will get deleted.

It deletes apps, so any apps you installed after taking it out of the box will be removed.

It will delete any setting you applied (ring tones, ringer volume, etc.), therefore, it will be restored back to standard settings as if you just took it out of the box.

The app or physical hard reset only deletes any new data/app installed after you took it out of the box. All apps are installed in the Treo's ROM (Read Only Memory). That means, it can ONLY be read, not written or deleted. Unless you have the proper hardware to reprogram it.
