I've been wondering the same thing.. lately, my phone seems to randomly switch into flight mode about once a week... when it does it, it "locks" itself into flight mode, if I go into the comm manager and re-enable the phone, within about 30 seconds, it goes back into flight mode... I haven't been able to identify what causes it, but I know it's not due to a dead battery... I'd take it in for service, but I know there's no way to replicate the problem... a soft reset usually cures it, at least till the next time.
