[How To] Downgrade 6.15.00 baseband to 5.13.04 on 3G & 3GS!

ok, so MuscleNerd finally released his downgrade hack in redsn0w.

Those of you who have flashed 6.15.00 can now downgrade to 5.13.04, which the last unlockable baseband that didn't break GPS or unable to restore. I've had a lot of anguish getting it to work today and had to find some answers. Here's how you do it (anguish free).

1) download redsn0w 0.9.14b1

Windows
Mac

2) connect your device to your computer via usb and make sure it's in DFU (redns0w will tell you how if you don't know)

3) Open redsn0w and click jailbreak, it will find your iOS version. If it doesn't then close redsn0w and download the iPSW that corresponds to your CURRENT firmware and device from here:

iClarified - iPhone - Where To Download iPhone Firmware Files From

Then open redsn0w, click extras, then select iPSW and select the file you downloaded. Go back and click Jailbreak.

Now if your device is already jailbroken (probably is) then only select the downgrade baseband option and hit next.

4) It will either do its thing or tell you to put the device in DFU, if it says the latter, follow the instructions on getting in DFU.

note: If it hangs on "fetching baseband files" for a couple minutes close redsn0w and use a different computer, or xp virtualization mode (what I had to do, for some reason the GUI hangs or something sometimes)

5) Once it does its thing and you see the pineapple, then just chill and don't do anything stupid while it flashes the baseband. After that it will restart

6) If your cydia apps work and it is unlocked, you're good to go if your cydia apps are broken and you get "no service" you need to re-install mobilesubstrate and ultra-sn0w 1.2.7 (in that order). If you do not have WiFi then download and install iFunbox from here:

i-FunBox | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transfer Tool for iPhone, iPad & iPod

connect your device (in regular on mode, not DFU or anything). Open iFunBox, and click on raw file system. Now navigate to var/root/media/cydia/auto-install. Download the attached files to this post. Stick the mobile substrate deb file only in to the folder you just navigated to. Restart your iPhone. It will do some funky stuff and may restart again. Once it actually turns on your cydia apps should work, but still "no service" now again with the ifunbox and navigate to the same directory. this time put the ultrasn0w deb file in and restart.

Now you should be golder
