Nothing impossible.. It is possible to detect an uncertified system on cellular carrier level if they receive assistance from the source i.e. Google Inc. The information states Google's beef is malicious applications and software, not rooting,software modifications etc. Cellular carriers are standing on the words "theft & stealing" of services. Services being accessing data, data from using a device as mobile hotspot or modem. Apple probably lost their court case due the angle of the defense. New legal ideas for legal debates are discovered when the unfortunates lose in court.
