Well I've heard of people basically wedging things between the screen to get it working again, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Heck, I heard of a guy who fixed his screen problem with a piece of paper...

At any rate, it might just be the ribbon cable. Unless you feel like tearing into it... I'm not sure what you would want anyone to suggest.
