Decided to go Droid but didn't know a whole lot about the many, many different phones. I'm stuck with Verizon for life now, btw. Did I make a good choice for a phone or is this one already being replaced? I don't see a whole lot of development going on for it. What's life like for those of us who like to run custom Roms? Any available? Can we use those written for other phones?

And here's always a good qustion, what's the first thing I should do once I unpack it and unlock it? Sounds like there may be a few updrages available for the browser or something.
