haus is right OP, for the most part. Root will get you the ability to uninstall some apps, others not so easily (or will cause issues). The best thing is to wait for full root and NAND access; then you can flash a custom ROM or even a stripped down (aka no bloatware) stock ROM.

Be patient, HTC devices usually get full root within a week or so of their release, at the latest.
