Re: HTC Sync 3.0.5481 Alternatives?

I myself did not even try to use HTC Sync. Instead, I wanted to synchronize through the "cloud" of Windows Live (formerly Hotmail, formerly MSN), and eventually succeeded--more or less. Windows Live now understands the Microsoft Exchange protocol, and Android's email knows how to synchronize with that.

HTC broke this functionality in its email program, so I had to download the original Android email.apk from the Internet. I was then able to synchronize with Windows Live, except that email was text-only--no HTML, not even clickable URLs. So I had to also define Hotmail as a POP3 provider in HTC's email program. Thus, the Android email is kept up to date with "push", but is useful only for a quick check of the latest; I still use HTC mail for regular reading.
