$150 for a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Droid X is what I went with - no contract renewal. The darn thing looked brand new with no scratches.
Shows out of stock now, but I am sure it will open back up soon. I've had luck with calling (800) 256-4646 and ordering as they can see true stock, if not at least put one on backorder if they allow it
