In keeping with Android’s open source mantra, the source code for Froyo on the Samsung Galaxy S line has been released to the public. This means a couple of things for end users:
- The official release of Froyo on these devices is very close
- With the source code released, hackers and developers of custom ROMs now have official code to work off of to create their software, fixing a lot of issues related to the way Galaxy S hardware interfaces with those ROMs.
