Dude, your thought process of how this should work is all wrong! When you push the power, vol down, reset button,
this does not reset everything. All this does is get you into bootloader mode, which is the tri colored screen. I am assuming this is what you are seeing.
While in booloader screen, install the stock sprint rom:

Scroll down to stock
Sprint roms and install one of these versions. Make sure it is Sprint, Not Verizon.
Just follow the steps on your pc to get this installed. Once it is done installing, go back to the bootloader screen.
After you get it to the bootloader screen install the relocker:

extract and install, follow the steps on the screen.
After this is done you phone should have the stock Sprint rom and be relocked.
Make sure you install Sprint stuff Not Verizon.
