Not exactly. It stands for Sprint Employee Referral Plan. As the name implies, it was for FRIENDS and Family of Sprint employees. I was referred by a friend who worked for Sprint. $30 a month gets you 500 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends after 7PM, unlimited text and data. All you needed to get this plan was any valid Sprint employee's email address.
For a time they actually promoted this plan to the general public and accepted some fake email like "savings@sprintpcs.com". It was replaced by the Everything Plus Referral Plan, not as good a deal and harder to get.
