siptang, look through the market for battery widgets, or battery monitors. It seems as if I saw one last night that did what you're suggesting but I can't remember the name of it.

I've been chasing down battery life problems so I've remove alot of apps that may be querying for stuff like battery percentage, etc. and thus can't remember which app it is.
I know this isn't much help, but I know I've seen it.

Also, FWIW, you can use appbrain.com on your pc to browse the market for stuff, then use their app to sync/send it to your phone.
