Re: New to the world of ppc specifically tp2

well if you just got a TP2, im guessing it came with 6.5 on it already.. along with some quicklinks already... Id say first things first:get your UI set up how you want it.. worry about apps second..

Go for CHT(Cookie Home Tab and Editor) current version is 1.8.5.. You can do some really great customizing all especially for your home screen.. this is a must have for alot of people right now.. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=123875

Hmm, next Id ask "are you going to tether?".. if so, Wifi Router is a free and quick way for Wifi Tethering.. but there are other options.. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=78502

.cabs are everywhere for winMO.. unlike Android,iPhone, and Blackberry; winMO apps are found all over websites, more so than its "market"..

www.xda-developers.com - this is the GSM equivelant of PPCGeeks(ALOT of what youll find originates from there, its worth it to go register now, because in no time youll be directed there anyways)

www.freewarepocketpc.net - a great repository site.. TONS of free cabs.. alot that go up here and XDA can be found there also.. the have a market app called OMarket so you can browse the newest stuff via an app instead of your browser

**BUT OF COURSE THERES NO PLACE BETTER THAN PPCGEEKS**

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93252 - this is where you read about "Unlocking" your device so that you can flash custom Roms (HardSPL)

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=95375 - How to Unlock using your SD Card

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93867 - If your interested in using your Sprint TP2 with another carriers prepaid SIM card and using another network

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=77470 - the Infamous "Show Us Your Home Screen Thread" - *NSFW* - so you can see what others are doing with their devices

**and searching is your best friend and Ill give you some tips**

-use advanced search..underneath the input box theres a drop down that says "search entire posts" you wanna change it to "seach titles only" otherwise youll get a million threads on what your asking and youll be looking for days

-Google is your best friend.. try inputting a few keywords for what your looking for then put PPCGEEKS after it... or try XDA after your keywords, if still not getting what you want

-"New Thread" button.. if you click new thread and start to type a question, once you click outside the box it shows you Threads with similiar key words in it.. this can also help you find a Thread/Topic you might be looking for...

***one last piece of advice.. Learn How To back Your Stuff Up!! this will save your ass time and time again.... Easiest way for a Newbie to do that Id have to say is Activesync or if you have Outlook installed on Win7- WMDC... otherwise its MS MYphone(you can do all your backing up right for an app on your device).. or maybe DashWire..those are all pretty easy backups... http://sn1-p3.myphone.microsoft.com/...=1282624181651 and Dashwire http://dashwire.com/

if you wanna look into the "Ultimate Backups" thatd be a program called Sashimi or something called XDA_UC.. both are capable of FULL backups down to your .cab install locations, settings, scripts, .xmls, contacts, registry, EVERYTHING ..
Sashimi http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=101422
XDA_UC http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=113189

Well ok, I think Ive given ya enough to play around with for a bit lol.. ENJOY.. and feel free to ask questions...
