You could use aebuttonplus to assign volume key presses to a dummy program (like name a .txt file dummyprogram.exe) or some other function that doesn't do anything. You can disable all hard buttons if you use a keypad.dll from another device or make a dummy one, but that's probably not too useful . If you know how to edit that dll, you could also probably remove the volume hard key function.
