i came form a tp2. as far as 3g goes, my incredible holds onto the signal better, but this will simply depend on your area. try updating your prl. i think dial *228 and choose "update prl" (may be wrong on those numbers)

as far as bars go, check this out. make a call or wait till someone calls you, THEN look at your signal strength. typically when idle i have between 0-2 bars, once a call is connected i will have 3-4 bars. maybe android throttles down signal strength when idle, idk, just a guess. i also get wait better standby time out of my incredible than my tp2, so thats my logic
