SSH (secure shell) is hacking into your iPad in order to get into the filesystem and be able to install/change some pretty cool things. Many How-To's on this site will have you SSH into your device, so here is a quck tutorial!\
You have to have your iPad jailbroken first. Here's how:

1) Open
Cydia and search/install
OpenSSH
2) Now for pc download
WinSCP -
http://winscp.net/eng/index.php
For Mac Download
Cyberduck -
http://cyberduck.ch/
3) Open up your program and enter the following settings:
hostname - you Ipad's IP Address (settings > Wifi > your network name)
User Name - root
Password - alpine
protocol - for cyberduck use
SFTP, for WinSCP use
SCP.
Hit
Connect and you ARE IN BABY!
