How about task manager or any way to switch between full screen programs? I use garmin XT, and once it goes full screen I am having a hard time figuring out how to switch programs without exiting.

HTC's Task manager seemed to cause issues with the clock in the upper right corner and I opted to remove it. You still have the Task Manager built into the start menu which will allow for quick and easy closing of programs.
