HTC wouldn't have bought it because they really wouldn't have gained anything from it, well at least I don't think they would have... the only thing they could have gained is their own OS which would probably mean they would drop Android and Microsoft OS whatever Microsoft decides to call their next OS for mobile phones.

I think that it's a bad move by HP, they could have waited and eventually Palm would have died because it seems nobody else was interested in buying Palm... waited for it to die and then go and buy WebOS cheaper!!! Just like when HP bought Compaq, HP too a dip then I think they will now..

I've never used WebOS so I'm know nothing about the OS
