Yea, I had WMWIfiRouter on my Touch Pro (I forgot the name lol). The android app I use does the same thing. It tethers by wifi or bluetooth but not by USB.

Rooting the Hero was easy (step by step directions & video). I followed the steps from here - http://theunlockr.com/2009/11/18/how...-in-one-click/

Wifi Tether app here - http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ (video shows how tether w/bluetooth)
