My alltel plan is an awesome deal, and if I'm forced to change it, I guess the droid is a no-go.

I know this is an old thread but people still find it.
I have an Alltel plan, the Smartpack 500, on Verizon Wireless. They did try to tell me I would have to change and pay $40+ more a month. Call into sales and find a COMPETENT sales rep like I did. I got 2 Droids with the second being $40 instead of $50.
So, Alltel plan CAN have a Verizon Wireless phone WITHOUT having to change. I was no contract and signed the 2 year contract to pay only $200 (no mail-in rebate, do it online!)
