The real goal is connecting to my workstation at work... through their SONICWALL firewall !!! ! !!
never had a chance to mess with a Netgear router, but you'd have to allow connections to port 3389 to pass through. thats the Terminal Server service port that RDP uses. It works for me with my Linksys router. I get a black circle around the cursor after connecting...makes it hard to see stuff. and just the lack of screen realestate makes it hard to work with. but it does work anyways.
I just setup a VPN connection to my main box at home so I can transfer files if needed. I know the Sonicwall firewalls, but thats up to your network admin at work...have to talk him into allowing it I guess. good luck.
