Phone Freezes OK'ing Text Thread

I've done a lot of searching, and haven't found anything conclusive. I have a problem with 6.5 where the phone takes an abnormally long time, sometimes minutes, when I am in a text thread and OK out of it, back to the list of threads.

I've heard to clear out my texts, and it should improve, but sometimes that doesn't help either.

I have a hunch it might be related to failed texts. When a text fails, it claims to save it to drafts, or offer to send it again. Occasionally, if I reboot my phone when it's "locking up", it will mysteriously send out those failed texts by itself on reboot, leading to some awkward situations, to say the least, when friends get texts from a contexts days or weeks ago. lol

Another hunch I have is that it's related to pictures messages somehow, maybe Arcsoft, or maybe something else.

What I'd like to do is learn a little more about how windows handles text messages, how it makes threads, how it interacts with Arcsoft, what happens exactly when a text fails to send, etc, but I can't find any real resources for this. Anyone else's experiences with this might help, too... or maybe your texting is find, and my problem is something less clear.

Any thoughts?
