this looks like it's related to what I'm trying to do - when I get a notification of any sort, I want the ability to turn off the alarm (stop the ringing/vibrating/flashing) without causing the alert to go away. I'm using phoneAlarm and I'd like for example my voicemail icon to actually show that I have new voicemails, after acking the alarm itself.
From my very limited research it seems that if you could snooze any notification that might work.
