Unhappy Verizon SMT5800 bricked (?)

My SMT5800 was being updated to the official Verizon Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, went to 13%, stopped, and now seems to be bricked (!). It automatically goes to bootloader, and when I try to hard reset it, it won' work. Can anyone help? I've tried to update via SD card, but I can't find any links on how to do specifically for the smt5800 (other methods won't work). Please help!!! Thanks.

UPDATE: I can get to a point where it says (after putting in the SD Card) (and only for a 1/2 a second) :

Loading...
No Image File!

EDIT 2:

Hard reseting the device won't work, and when I use a USB sniffer (SnoopyPro) it recognizes my PPC as a HTC USB sync and as a PocketPC USB Sync.

EDIT 3:

I've found it's actually, legitimately bricked. A word of advice: whatever you do, don't uninstalled you PPC's activesync driver. Don't. Because if you get locked out by a boot screen, there's no way to fix it. On the plus side, Verizon's giving me a new one free (off contract, too!). All I need to do now is figure out how to close this thread... ?
