Thats exactly how i've been doing it, to add few things:
1) after removing oils with alcohol - dip your fingers into the solution - this way they dont leave prints on sticky side of screen protector and do not stick to fingers.

2) DO NOT put cloth under the phone or paper towels(toilet paper/napkins) as all those have tiny particles that tend to get on the screen or stick to screen protector.

3) Wipe the surface(kithen/toilet seat) that you going to put phone on during application thoroughly.

4) Do not keep the phone in the steamy bathroom, just take it inside when ready(and its all nice and steamy(or after steam has settled)) and take it with you when done.

5) If you have windows in bathroom - close them before running shower to create steam. Best way to create lots of steam quickly is to run hot water from the top of shower with shower curtain opened.

6) Before going into the bathroom to perform application - wash your face and run wet fingers through your hair(if you have any) and after that put on a baseball cap(or any hat/hair-net that will prevent accidental hair falling(like when cooking))

I know its sounds like a lot - but trust me the whole thing now takes me under 20 mins(most time spend on getting bathroom steamy) and screen protectors look perfect for month and even years. Same technique for applying full body film with these few additions:

1) to make corners stick better - use plastic wrap(regular from kitchen) and wrap it tightly after putting on the full body film. Keep it on overnight

2) if the bubbles are still there in 2-3 days - don't worry they will go away eventually - but if you use the squeegee(or credit card) to push out bubbles too hard you risk stretching the film and that can stay permanent, so don't use excessive force.

3) If you really in a hurry(only and do it at your own risk), preheat the oven(or toaster oven - not microwave!) to the lowest possible setting(90F in my case) and put the phone on the middle shelve on the paper(do not use foil or plastic wrap). Make sure not to set the oven to high or you will risk cooking your phone and do not put the battery in. If you unsure of what you doing there - DO NOT DO IT and just wait it out - bubbles might take up to 3 weeks to completely disappear but they will go away eventually
