Video Player and File Type

Ok, so I have read quite a few posts on different file types and which video player everyone seems to like, but one thing I don't see much of is everyone saying which file types they are playing. I have had many phones and I know that finding the right file type for that phone isn't always easy, so maybe someone here can help me.

What I have is a Touch Pro 2 with Sprint stock ROM. I have tried Media Player, Coreplayer 1.3.2, and Pocket Divx. I tried TCPMP as well, but it wouldn't run for me. I am trying to play one of two types of files. Either .avi xvid files, or .mp4 formatted for an iPod Touch. I can format to anything else if needed though, but that is just what I have tried. Every program plays the files, but with a TON of buffering making them unwatchable. BTW none of my videos are anywhere near the 800x480 resolution I would like to be running at, most are much smaller.

So the question is, what type of files is everyone playing, what codec are you using, and which player works? What resolution are you using?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.'

**UPDATE** I did just try CorePlayer again, and I changed a video setting to RawFrameBuffer. Much better, not perfect, but it is acceptable.
