You might try using backup software such as Sprite Backup (you can download a free trial) to back the entire phone up to a self-executing file on an SD card, then hard reset. Try dialing the number immediately after the hard reset. Then restore the backup from the SD card; if it worked after the hard reset, but not after the restore, then one of your programs or settings is interfering with the phone. If it worked after the hard reset and also after the restore, problem fixed. If it did not work immediately after the hard reset, and Sprint can't fix it, then get the phone exchanged at Sprint and restore your backup file to the new phone using the Sprite Restore Device Upgrade option.
